Description: At Illinois State University, University Galleries offers so many opportunities that allow students to talk to and hear about the work this current exhibiting artist is creating. Edra Soto, an artist currently working in the Chicago-Land Area came to talk about her current work, and what her past artwork has looked like. She has many different types of art that she has made, my personal favorites were her public sculptures that she has installed. I really admire the way she found the beauty in everyday objects. Rationale: When I attended this lecture, I was able to learn more about Soto. This artist talk also transformed my view into sculpture making, and allowed me to open my brain up to see the beauty in things I see everyday. By analyzing and admiring her work. I gained inspiration for many future projects. Evidence: Edra Soto's Exhibition and Artist Talk at University Gallery |
PROFESSIONALISM, ADVOCACY & LEADERSHIP: PAL 2 (1 submission) 7N: advances his or her knowledge of current developments in the field by participating in professional development activities (e.g., coursework, professional organizations, and workshops). (participating)
